Rebranding and Brand Implementation (Creative Case Study – Unimplemented)
CHALLENGE
How do you modernize a sports club's deep-rooted, historical identity, pushing it toward a minimalist, future-proof aesthetic?
The primary challenge was distilling the rich history of U.S. Sestese into a contemporary, strategic visual language. The goal was to create an immediately recognizable identity that honored the club's traditional symbols and colors (specifically the historic banner) while introducing the visual clarity and flexibility required for a modern merchandising and communication system.
THE SOLUTION: A MINIMALIST DESIGN SYSTEM
This detailed conceptual exploration is presented as a creative case study of our design process. While not implemented at the client's discretion, it serves as a powerful testament to our innovative approach to visual identity design.
We developed a comprehensive concept focused on cohesion between history and modernity, working across three key areas:
1. The Crest: Minimalist Reinterpretation We crafted a minimalist reinterpretation of the historic crest. Using clean lines and essential geometric shapes, we created a logo that serves both as a tribute to the past and a clear statement of intent for the club's future. The result retains the recognizability of the original emblem, giving it a decidedly contemporary look.
2. Colour Palette: Vibrancy and Deep Connection The color palette was refreshed with more vibrant shades. This not only modernized the overall look but also unmistakably reinforced the link to the club’s official colors, ensuring a deep connection with its historical identity.
3. Implementation & Design System We extended the identity to a complete application system, including merchandising and apparel design (jerseys and aesthetic coordination). We defined guidelines to ensure the identity was coherent and effective across every medium, transforming the new logo into a flexible asset, ideal for both digital communication and product lines.
