THE CHALLENGE
To codify the kinetic energy of freeriding and the educational ethos of an "Outdoor Institute." The challenge went beyond mere logo creation; it required a visual system capable of transitioning seamlessly from smartphone screens to vehicle bodies and technical fibers, maintaining absolute legibility amidst the high-altitude peaks of Valsesia.
THE RESOLUTION
A VISUAL INSTITUTION IN MOTION - We responded by designing a "Design System" that treats mountain sports with the rigor of an academic institution, turning the brand into a physical and tangible entity.
1. Geometric Synthesis
The Logic of the Trace The visual identity is founded on a rigorous geometric synthesis: the intersection of two ski edges—the mathematical minimum required to close a geometric figure on snow. This "tri-angle" doesn't just evoke alpine ridges; it codifies the kinetic signature of a turn.
2. Vehicle Branding: Mobile Identity
We transformed the fleet of 9-seater vans into powerful communication assets. The wrapping is not just a logo application but a dynamic management of surfaces: oversized "broken" graphics that play with the vehicle’s volumes, ensuring high visual impact and instant recognition during alpine transfers.
3. Merchandising & Promo Assets: From Guerrilla to High Altitude
We managed the full production of merchandising and promo-institutional assets. The visual system was scaled across stickers for guerrilla marketing activities, promotional banners for the slopes, and institutional flags ranging from 4 to 6 meters, engineered for maximum visibility during high-altitude competitions.
4. Club Apparel: Brand Application & Guidelines
Beyond the visual identity, we managed the brand’s positioning across the club’s physical assets, defining how the logo should interact with technical gear and official T-shirts. We provided the client with strategic guidelines for brand application, ensuring the design serves as a mark of professional recognition and belonging for Freelines team members, regardless of the specific technical apparel used.
5. Operational Brand Implementation: QR Code Integration
Integration of Operational QR Codes across all physical assets (stickers and flags) for immediate on-field access to safety data and course schedules.
